Philadelphia Elite MMA

Brainchild of founder, Ed Heyse , Philadelphia Elite MMA opened its doors on June 1, 2016 as one of Northeast Philadelphia’s newest MMA and Fitness facilities. Ed and his team of instructors opened the gym with one simple mission in mind: to provide diverse training programs so that the families of Philadelphia may have access to a healthy, competitive, year-round sport at a reasonable price.

You will often find Ed in the gym cleaning the mats before each day begins, or talking with his members about their training experiences. Ed shared his motivation behind opening Philadelphia Elite MMA, saying “We wanted a place for kids and adults to come for great training and a great family atmosphere.”

It is truly a family affair with Ed. Katie Heyse, Ed’s youngest daughter, is the Gym Manager. Katie can often be found participating in many of the classes Philadelphia Elite MMA offers, and supports the youth Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes as an assistant instructor.

Philadelphia Elite MMA classes are diverse, with people from all walks of life stepping on the mats and becoming equals in a martial art they love. Our classes are taught by highly experienced practitioners across the disciplines of Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and Physical Fitness. There is a flavor of training for everyone!

As Ed often says, Philadelphia Elite MMA was created to be a place that “anyone looking to train would want to join, and that anyone who did train here would want to come back.”
